ENGL 211 Survey of British and American Literature

A survey of English and American literature and literary history from Anglo-Saxon times to the present. The first quarter covers medieval, Renaissance, and colonial American literature; the second quarter examines literature from the Restoration in England to the Civil War in America; and the third quarter studies literature from the Victorian era to the present. Open only to English majors, minors, and humanities majors, or by permission of the instructor.
